As per manufacturer:
The Fristam FDS is a positive displacement pump designed specifically for handling both viscous and low-viscosity fluids with ease. This highly sophisticated pump utilizes the advanced principles of double-screw technology, offering flexibility and reliability across a wide range of applications. Engineered for precision and optimized to the highest standards, the FDS pump delivers exceptional performance while maintaining hygienic standards, reducing wear, and improving efficiency.
Where is the FDS Twin Screw Pump Used?
Fristam FDS Hygienic Twin Screw Pumps are perfect for a variety of industries that require fluid handling of both high and low-viscosity fluids. Its robust design and versatility make it suitable for applications in:
• Food and Beverage: Ideal for transferring sauces, pastes, fruit cocktails, oils, syrups, caramels, and other viscous food products.
• Dairy: Perfect for pumping milk and products with variegates like creams and yogurt.
• Pharmaceuticals and Life Science: Used in the transport of sensitive materials such as proteins, immunoglobulins, blood and antibodies.
• Cosmetics: Handles thick creams and lotions with ease.
• Clean-in-Place (CIP) Systems: Efficient for pumping detergents, solvents, and other chemicals used in the cleaning process, eliminating the need for additional pumps in the system.
How Does the Fristam FDS Work?
The Fristam FDS operates on a unique axial transportation principle that uses two screws to gently move fluid through the pump, reducing pulsation even under high pressure. This results in smooth, continuous flow with minimal wear on both the pump and the fluid. The FDS can achieve speeds up to 3,600 RPM, making it capable of pumping large quantities of both high-viscosity products and low-viscosity liquids such as water or CIP solutions.
A key feature of the FDS is its ability to withstand high differential pressures without overheating, ensuring a longer operational life and minimizing deflection or rubbing in the wet end. The pump’s mechanical seals are positioned in fully flushed areas, ensuring superior hygiene with no cavities to trap residue. This makes the FDS ideal for clean and sterile environments, as it can be fully sterilized.
